We are seekers of truth and knowledge
We search for answers in whatever form they may come. How difficult is the challenge? Only as difficult as the next step. We aim to uncover ancient wisdom and recover lost knowledge, so that we might discover new technologies.
I constantly sought knowledge and truth, and it became my belief that for gaining access to the effulgence and closeness to God, there is no better way than that of searching for truth and knowledge."
- Ibn al-Haytham, 10th century physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher
We are innovators and interlocutors across borders
We work across borders, both disciplinary and international, to discover new knowledge. With a research portfolio that spans the interests of multiple agencies, including NSF, DARPA, NIH, DOE, and others, the Quantum Biology Lab thrives on new ideas and perspectives from across the spectrum of humanity.
As far as the other doctrines of [humans] and of their children are concerned, it is not fitting that we believe them hastily without inquiry; we ought to accept them judiciously as we see that they agree with our reason after a considerable investigation; we should believe what our reason testifies [to be true;] we should not [believe] what our reason does not teach us to be true. Hence let us not be in a hurry to say it is false; we do not know whether it is true or false. Let us only say on this question: "We do not believe this thing because we do not know it."
- The Treatise of Wäldä Heywåt, 17th century philosopher
We are committed to the underserved
We understand that science is created by people, for the benefit of all. Founded at a historically Black university, the Quantum Biology Lab desires that the fruits of cutting-edge scientific research be shared by the communities most undervalued in American society.
